# Backup your i-WAT data

Copy ".iwat" folder to a storage medium, and keep it in a safe place.

Usually for Windows 2000 or Windows XP, ".iwat" folder is created in the folder named after your user name ("home folder") in "C:\Documents and Settings", in which the data needed by i-WAT is stored. You can find out where your home folder is by using the command prompt program; the prompt shows your home folder. In order to use the command prompt program,

For example, if your user name is "Alice" and you are a Windows XP user, the prompt on the window would show

C:\Documents and Settings\Alice>

Your home folder is the one on the left side of ">". The data of i-WAT is stored in ".iwat" folder in your home folder. Copy the contents of the folder to a safe medium.

# Restore your i-WAT data

Copy the contents of the backed up folder back to ".iwat" folder.
