version 0.09 (change 847) Release Note
# Changes
[Changes in wija version 0.09 (change 847)]
-Improved Feature: (Editing) the Status Menu-
# The status menu has changed.
- There were two ways to type in custom status messages:
to use the custom message dialog and to use the status panel of the contact
window.
The former feature is removed, and selecting "Status Message..." from the
status menu will bring the contact window where the status message is set
editable.
- Selecting "Edit Menu..." will bring the new dialog where you can edit the
status menu by drag & drop.
# History of status messages is recorded.
- The status panel of the contact window records every status message which
was sent since the activation of wija.
The messages can be browsed by pressing the left-right triangle buttons.
By clicking on the "Send" button, the status message can actually be changed.
# Improved the editing of status messages.
- The current status message can be added to the status menu by clicking on
"Add to Menu" button from the status panel of the contact window.
- The "Edit Status Menu" dialog lets you do the following:
- Add to the menu.
- Select the place to add a new item and press "Add" button.
Then "Unnamed" will appear.
Click on it, and click again to make it editable.
You can enter a message you like, and press return to apply the change.
- Remove from the menu.
- Select the message to remove, and press "Remove" button.
Then the status message will be removed from the menu.
- Move messages.
- You can drag & drop the status messages.
- You can drag a text from other programs to drop on the dialog.
You can copy a nice phrase from a web page and so on.
- You can also copy a status message to other programs.
Drag & drop of status messages may cause an exception inside AWT (a Java User
Interface library) on Mac OS X.
If this happens, the message will be left in the source, and copied to the
destination.
The content of the dialog may not match the actual items on the menu.
This phenomenon is only witnessed on Mac OS X, and it never happens on Windows
XP so far.
We suspect that this is a problem in Mac OS X's implementation of J2SE.
-Improved Feature: Presence Priorities-
- You can specify a priority of a presence at the login window or the status
panel of the contact window.
- Priorities help XMPP servers to decide to which presence a message whose
destination does not specify a resource should be routed.
- A priority can range from -128 to 127.
Messages are not routed to a presence with a negative priority.
-Improved Feature: XML I/O Window-
- XML Input/Output record is now displayed in a single window.
- Users can turn the recording on and off.
-Other Improvements-
- The amount of real memory wija uses is reduced maximum 10% depending on the
use cases.
-Fixes-
- Solved the problem of the roster not being expanded when other users are
on-line with multiple presences.
- Solved the problem of a resource name being left on the roster when the
user becomes off-line with one presence but remains on-line with others.
- Solved the problem of a long status message being not properly wrapped when
the contact window is resized.
- Solved the problem of users not being able to log into jabber.org after their
server's specifications have changed.
- Solved the problem of occasional exceptions upon adding an item to the
roster while there is no group there, such as right after registration of
an account.
- Solved the problem of occasional exceptions upon selecting "Share" tab on
the contact window after selecting a bookmark item.
- Solved the problem of exceptions upon using hyper-text sharing while wija is
running on J2SE 1.3.1.
[Changes in Spot-lite version 0.03 (change 847)]
Spot-lite is a plug-in for detecting people's whereabouts by the unique numbers
(BSSID: Basic Service Set IDentifier) of wireless LAN base stations, and
allowing them to rendezvous.
-Improvements-
- Avoided concentration of timer processing by randomizing timing of the timer
start (upto 10 seconds).
- Made an option available for not to open the contact window when a spot is
detected.
[Changes in Tunes version 0.03 (change 847)]
Tunes is a new plug-in that works with Apple's iTune software. It enables users
to exchange the song titles to which they are listening, or explore the
song titles which they may like. This plug-in is bundled with wija since
version 0.08.
-Improvements-
- Avoided concentration of timer processing by randomizing timing of the timer
start (upto 10 seconds).
- Made an option available for not to open the contact window when a tune is
detected.
- Made an option available for not to start iTunes.
-Fixes-
- Solved the problem of exceptions upon stopping to play or exiting iTunes.
- Solved the problem of an infinite loop if there is a person who only listen
to tunes already in your library.
About window and help pages are not yet ready for Spot-lite, Cutie X and Tunes
plug-ins. We regret any inconveniences this may cause.
