How to Backup/Restore on Windows

Keep a copy of the contents of ".wija" folder in a storage medium in a safe place.

Copy ".wija" folder to a storage medium, and keep it in a safe place.

Usually for Windows 2000 or Windows XP, ".wija" folder is created in the folder named after your user name ("home folder") in "C:\Documents and Settings", in which the data needed by wija is stored. You can find out where your home folder is by using the command prompt program; the prompt shows your home folder. In order to use the command prompt,

• In case you are a Windows 98/95/Me user,
  • Go to "Start" -> "Programs" -> "MS-DOS Prompt".
• In case you are a Windows 2000 user,
  • Go to "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "Command Prompt".
• In case you are a Windows XP user,
  • Go to "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "Command Prompt".

For example, if your user name is "Alice" and you are a Windows XP user, the command prompt would show

C:\Documents and Settings\Alice>

Your home folder is the one on the left side of ">". The wija data are stored in ".wija" folder in your home folder. Copy the contents of the folder to a safe medium.

Copy the contents of the backed up folder back to ".wija" folder.
