You can compile a new message and send it to your friend, or reply to a message you have received.

>> Compile a new message

  1. Make a message compilation window appear.
    • To do so, select the nickname of the peer to whom you would like to send a message, and go to "Member" menu -> "New Message...", or
    • Right-click1 on the nickname of the peer in the member list, and select "New Message..." on the popup menu.

  2. Enter the following items on the window.
    [To]
    • The Jabber ID of the correspondent to whom you would like to send a message.
    • It has already been filled when this window is opened, and you do not need to alter it.
    [Subject]
    • The title of the message.
    [Message area]
    • The body of the message.
    • You can type in plain text, or use XHTML.
  3. Click on "Send" button.
    • You cannot send a message if the message area is empty.

A message window appears when you receive a message.

Follow these steps to reply to the message.

  1. Click on "Reply" button.
    • A message compilation window appears.
    • The subject is set automatically by prepending "Re: " to the subject of the received message (unless the original subject already has "Re: " at the top).
  2. Enter the message body, and click on "Send" button just like you do when you send a new message. (See >> Compile a new message.)

Right-click is to click on the right-hand-side button of the mouse. Since a Macintosh computer has just one mouse button, there needs to be an alternative; Macintosh users should click while pressing down "control" key.
