Installation Guide A photo ID is a photograph or a picture stored in the public key data. A photo ID is digitally signed by the owner who generated the key pair, which means that it can be used for identifying someone in the extent that their public keys are verified as genuine.
Photo IDs are displayed throughout the usage scenes of wija to identify the peers.
The photo ID information is displayed, which should show that there is no photo ID set.
After clicking on "Add" button, the following window appears.
Drag and drop the icon of the image file you intend to use as your photo ID onto the "NO PHOTO" frame.
When you click on "Add" button, you will be asked to type your GnuPG passphrase to sign the photo ID. After the signature is complete, the photo ID information will be displayed as follows.
An avatar is an image broadly used for identifying peers in other chat systems such as Google Talk1.
By registering the same image you use as your photo ID as an avatar, peers who do not use messaging clients with the photo ID mechanism can also view your representing image.
To do so, click on "Make Avatar" button.
Click on "Update" button on the displayed window as above.

| 1 | An avatar and a photo ID are different in that the former does not provide means to verify the genuineness of the picture. wija prefers to display the photo ID if both a photo ID and an avatar are provided by a peer. |
