Sign Public Keys

• You can also sign a public key just after you confirm its authenticity upon receiving the public key.

Follow these steps to sign a public key already in your key ring.

1. Select the nickname of the correspondent whose public key you would like to sign on the roster.
2. Go to "Features" menu -> "PGP" -> "Sign The Key".
   • If you have already signed the public key, a message window appears to remind you of the fact.
   • Otherwise, a GnuPG passphrase input window appears.
   
3. Enter the passphrase to sign the key.
