The status lightbulb of your friend stays white for a while after adding them to the member list.

>> Cause

Perhaps the reason is one of the following.

• The peer has not been connected to Jabber/XMPP or (if you are using some gateway) MSN, etc. at all.
• The presence subscription request you sent is lost somehow before the peer could answer it.
• The peer has rejected your presence subscription request.

>> Solution

In some cases, sending the subscription request again solves the problem.

1. Select the nickname of the peer you would like to send the presence subscription request again.
2. Go to "Member" menu -> "Member Settings" -> "Subscribe to Presence" so that the check is removed.
3. Again, go to "Roster" menu -> "Member Settings" -> "Subscribe to Presence" so that it is checked.
